Help on A800 problem

I un-locked an A800 a couple of weeks ago for a customer and he has brought it back to me saying that he now can not make calls out from it. I have put a voda sim in it and it made 3 musical beeps and ended the call, so then I put my O2 sim in it and it made a couple of strange noises then call ended. Tries several times with both sims with same result. Is this phone blacklisted or has the un-lock messed up the phone. I used the A800 calculator software to un-lock this phone if that helps.

i doubt very much that you have done anything detremental to this phone mate. 3 beeps usually is a sign of being barred on voda but as you say you started to make a call on 02 then im not sure its barred, reason for this is that on orange and 02 the usual message on the screen of a barred samsung would be "no service". there are numbers you can ring to check whether an imei is a valid (legal one) but i dont have that to hand sorry.

the other and more logical reason is that this isnt the phone you unlocked and he is trying it on. i write down the imei of every phone i touch and note what i have done to it, ie flash/unlock/screen etc as i have had a few people trying to be clever in the past.

I do know this guy and I remember un-locking it so I think that rules that possibilty out. The phone nver dialled out on my O2 sim card it made some funny beeps like with the Voda one. Phoned Orange to check whether it was blacklisted and they could not tell me unless I had his phone number which I don't.

Cheers guys, just tried the T-Mobile one and they go all the way to the end and then say they are updating the server and you cannot check at the moment :mad:. Tried the Orange one first but they needed the Orange phone number but I have not got it.
