Our orange distributor has just banged on £40 per handset for pay monthly, to cover the losses they will make, now oftel have told them to lower their charges! BUMMER!!
Yep a 3510i on talk 30 now costs £39.99 wheras before we could do it F.O.C. Apprently O2 and Voda are waiting till the middle of this month before changing there comission's so you still have a bit of time to get a free phone!!
I can see alot of smaller dealers going bust (and maybe some of the big boys, like Dialaphone, Phones4u etc), times are gonna get hard. But at the end there's gonna be the elite few left, which will make the market alot easier!
My Gaffa is worried but we've got a valeting company as well to keep us propped up if times get hard. We're also looking at other avenue's of revenue such as In Car Entertainment, such as Sat Nav, TV/DVD player etc etc.
Just some thoughts there on my big outlook on the mobile industry!;)
not much difference really all they are doing is not paying the shops any commission for selling handset, therefore they have to charge!!
good from a business point of view!
